Japan revises standards for high fructose corn syrup and sweetened high fructose corn syrup

On September 18, 2024, the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries revised the standards for high fructose corn syrup and sweetened high fructose corn syrup, effective from the date of publication. Main contents:
(1) The product standard added fructose content is greater than 35%;
(2) Product label added: product name, storage method, shelf life, raw material name, production and processing enterprise name address, country of origin;
(3) Partial revision of the measurement method of sugar refractive index.
